About Us

Amarcord was born out of a desire to preserve the most important memories of one’s life. This desire becomes particularly urgent later in life and so perhaps it is not a coincidence that Amarcord was conceived by a 77-year-old looking at the photos of his parents and thinking how he could write the family stories for his grandchildren.

My heartfelt thanks go to my wife whose interest in the family history provided the kernel of the idea; to my children for much useful criticism and for saying that it was OK for me to spend their inheritance and to Mick, the founder of We Make Apps in Melbourne, who smoothed the interface between an old guy and the young crew that built the App.
